On 18 September 2026, ECOVIS and the Qiushiyuan Semiconductor Alliance held a cross-border investment salon focused on the overseas expansion of Chinese semiconductor businesses. The discussion addressed challenges companies face when establishing and operating in new markets, including market entry and compliance.
Established in November 2015, the alliance is an industry platform spanning the semiconductor value chain. The event was supported by ECOVIS Ruide China and Shanghai K-insight Law Firm.
Speakers from the ECOVIS network included Vu Manh Quynh, Managing Partner, ECOVIS Vietnam Law; Chai Jia Jun of ECOVIS Malaysia PLT; Hong Xing An, Tax Partner at ECOVIS Malaysia PLT; and Jorge Parapar of Kerval Advisory Partners, ECOVIS Spain.

Topics covered investment incentives, market access conditions, company registration, tax policies, R&D support and operational considerations in Vietnam, Malaysia and Spain. The speakers also addressed common risks and potential responses.
Chen Rongling, Chairman of the alliance, attended in person. According to ECOVIS International, he previously served as President and Chairman of Applied Materials China and is now a Senior Advisor to ASML China.
Vietnam perspective
For investors considering Vietnam as part of a semiconductor or electronics supply chain, these topics underscore the need to assess market entry and operating requirements during project planning. Applicable investment conditions and incentives should be reviewed under current regulations.

ECOVIS International described the salon as a milestone in its cooperation with the alliance and indicated that further industry-focused events would follow.
