Global Mobility Between Switzerland and Vietnam

By Vu Manh Quynh· July 2026· 1 min read

Case Overview

A Swiss industrial group needed to relocate its Chief Executive Officer to lead operations at its existing Vietnamese subsidiary, requiring coordinated employment, immigration and tax planning between headquarters and the local entity.

Challenges

The relocation required work authorisation, a Temporary Residence Card, updated employment terms, and clarity on personal income tax residency — all while ensuring the executive’s appointment as legal representative complied with Vietnam’s corporate governance requirements.

ECOVIS Solution

ECOVIS Switzerland and ECOVIS Vietnam Law coordinated the work permit and Temporary Residence Card applications, structured a compliant employment arrangement, advised on tax residency and reporting obligations, and updated the subsidiary’s governance documents to reflect the new legal representative.

Outcome

The CEO relocated on schedule with full work authorisation, a compliant employment and tax structure, and updated corporate governance documentation — enabling an uninterrupted leadership transition.
